1. Measure your elastic and cut it.
2. Fold the elastic in half and line up the ends. Sew a seam down the width like this:

3. Open the ends like a book.

4. Stitch down the tail on one side.

5. Stitch down the other side and voila! You've got yourself a beautifully neat waistband that works great in a casing. If you use thread the same color as your elastic, you can leave it exposed. Easy!

or ... butt up the edges together and zigzag over the join ...
